Wildlife and Nature Safari
Welcome aboard! Join us on a RIB trip in the beautiful Reisafjord and get to observe sea eagles and porpoises up close. Enjoy experiences you’ll never forget and take photos you’ll love to show off!
Thriving Wildlife
During the tour, we’ll offer great guidance about life by the sea, and you’ll meet sea eagles and experience other bird and animal life in the fjord. We may also encounter porpoises and white-beaked dolphins who can show us their lightning-fast hunt for herring and other small fish.
Porpoises are small-toothed whales that belong to the porpoise family. They can grow up to two meters long, and have a short, compact, streamlined physique and blunt beaks/snouts.
White-beaked dolphins are a whale species in the dolphin family that can often be seen off the coast of northern Norway. They can grow up to two meters long and are easy to recognise due to their characteristic white beak/snout.
The Straumfjord
If the conditions are just right, the tidal current in the Straumfjord will take us in or out of the narrow fjord opening. The tide is a large wave that moves across the oceans, and the water being forced through narrow straits causes strong tidal currents to occur. They are formed by the height differences between the tide’s ebb and flow, which has two high tides and two low tides per day. The currents can move at very high speeds, which is what we hope to use during the trip.
Safety First
We’ll meet at På Taket Kafé at 10:00am. Before we board the RIB boat, you’ll receive a tour information and safety briefing.
